Getting rid of moles

Do you want to know how to get rid of moles?

There are two main types of surgical procedures that are applied by doctors while removing moles. The simple cutting method is a preferred alternative by those, who are averse to the idea of stitches. In this method, it involves no stitching activities. The main tool used to perform the surgery is a scalpel. Shaving is done on the mole and its surrounding area using the scalpel. The region below the skin is slightly shaved off, so that the moles can be removed from the root. For this reason, you have to make sure you have chosen a doctor who is well-qualified for the job.

What if, while removing the moles, it starts to bleed?

The bleeding is stopped by using a simple solution. Some would resort to exposing the bleeding area to direct heat to stop the blood flow. However, this does not mean that you should char the skin itself. Cauterization, through the use of electrical instruments can also be used. After this process, a topical antibiotic will be applied. Applying the antibiotic over the area will prevent further infection as well as hasten the wound's recovery. You can also use band aids to cover the wounds and protect it from infections. If the surgeon gives specific instructions, obey them since they are meant to make your recovery faster.

Now how do you go about removing flat moles?

Some moles can be of the raised type. Others are flat and dark-colored. But both types can be removed. The method of removing flat moles or dark moles that adhere close to the skin involves direct cutting of the moles and this process involves stitching. Removing moles via the method of excision is the best way to go about this. The presence of moles on the cheeks or chin can annoy you. They may even cause problems, when it comes to your looks. But there is no need to worry about it. Surgeons use the excision process and tactfully remove the moles from the skin. Before excision, the area around the mole will be rendered numb through the use of creams or injections. It will provide slight relief when the cutting starts. The mole region is also sterilized before surgery. The scalpel is the main instrument used by the surgeon in both methods. The mole will be cut with the scalpel, along with the surrounding region. The size of the bordering area varies from one person to another. If the cancerous moles are removed, the border size might be a little larger. Cutting a small size in cancerous moles might not help at all, especially if the doctor is positive that the possibility of cancer is high. In such cases, the border size will be further increased. The stitches can be mainly of two types. One type is used on deep skin regions. These stitches will thus be absorbed by the body and need not be removed. The other type of stitches is on the superficial layer of skin and thus has to be removed.
